Horse Heart Health

Did you know horses need ample daily exercise just to survive?

Fun Fact: Part of the horse's heart is in their hooves!

When a horse gets up to a good steady trot or better yet - a full gallop - their own weight landing on their hooves as they run pumps blood from the frog of their hooves to their heart. Horses need this kind of exercise to maintain healthy blood circulation, bringing oxygen to their muscles, joints, and organs. This can be done with trotting, galloping, jumping, and even just liberty play in a large enough arena. Get help exercising your horse daily by joining out EQUINE FITNESS PROGRAM.

EQUINE FITNESS PROGRAM

About The Program

Because we use the natural horsemanship method, the program goes through 3 stages of fitness routines for the ease, safety and comfort of the horse.

STEP 1

Liberty & On-Lead at Home

Playing with horses at liberty. Introductions, transitions, and movement. Working with the 5 zones and going through 3 of the 7 games. Horse unbridled, unsaddled, trainer on ground.

~ Must have a round pen / small arena on the property. We offer round pen installation if not (ask for round pen fees)

STEP 2

Riding at Home

Playing with horses on horseback. Introductions, transitions, and movement. Working with the 5 zones and going through the 7 games. Horse bridled, saddled, trainer on horseback. Walk trot & gallop in round pen.

STEP 3

Trail Riding

Playing with horses on horseback. Introductions, transitions, and movement. Working with the 5 zones and going through the 7 games. Horse bridled, saddled, trainer on horseback. Walk trot & gallop on trails and in open land. Full gallop, heart pumping.
